I took a trip west this week, giving up a few days in the swamp for a handful in the desert. My friend (the Brit) was on a press junket at the same time and as we have been planning a mainstream (non-adult) project together, I’d decided to pull the trigger on a trip that had been overdue. It also gave me a chance to work with Selena and Aaliyah Love again. Another friend from New Orleans had already booked a trip there and we (Mina & I) made our days line up so we could spend some time with her outside of French Quarter bars.
I hadn’t been back to Las Vegas since I’d flown out to see to the disposal of my car in December. There were people to see and things to do that I didn’t want to put off any longer, so three of us climbed into a cab on a balmy morning and headed to the airport well before the sun was up. We had the same flight all the way there and took a car service together from the airport to our hotels. We weren’t far from one another, but just far enough so that we could have our time alone when we needed to.
I remembered things that I missed about living there as well some of the reasons I moved away. It was a good trip all in all and I would have liked to have stayed another day, but then again; it’s always best to leave before the party has ended. I’ll take another trip there again, soon enough…
